Members:
Cloth & Chocolate (the name inspired by two of our favorite things!) formed with a common purpose: a desire to expand the art aspects of quilt making and to grow and learn from each other. Our diversity is one of our strengths.
Our nine-member group ranges in age from 34 to 70 and touts some of the region's renowned, award-winning quilt artists and teachers.
Each of us brings to the group our own
unique talents and background, varying from fabric dyeing and embellishment to
weaving and photography. We seek to satisfy our own creative urges, support each
other, and explore trends in contemporary quilt making.
For each of us, personalization is at the heart of designing a quilt. The
inspiration comes from many places: nature, religion, architectural elements,
color, geometry, or emotions. Each of us strives to follow our own muse in
creating our original designs and seeks to shed new light on the emerging
artistry that is contemporary quilting.
