I am inspired by the colors of nature, especially as the seasons change.
I love the news greens of Spring, the bright colors of Summer, the warm glow of Autumn, and the stark contrasts
of black and white in Winter. I have made many quilts with these color palettes in mind.
I also love the colors and textures of fabrics and how they blend together and enhance the feeling I am trying to portray.
The first thing I see in a quilt, or in any piece of art, is the interplay of colors.
Since I am also a mathematics teacher, I can't get away from my need for balance and symmetry and using geometric shapes. All of these are often found in my quilts.
