I have been quilting for about 14 years.  Prior to that I made clothes for my three daughters and myself, often designing and drafting my own patterns.  Sewing has always been a creative outlet for me.  I take pleasure in exploring the many textures and colors that are available.  Creating something that is both beautiful and useful is very fulfilling.  Quilting allows me to play with many fabrics at the same time, to experiment with new combinations of colors, to use old patterns in old and new ways and to design new ones.  I enjoy interpreting other media, such as glass, into fabric representations. I still make clothing, for myself and for my daughters, but now they are quilted garments, usually vests and jackets.
